Integrative Family Medicine

At Dr. Susan’s Integrative Family Medicine, we offer a comprehensive program of integrative care focusing on diagnostic screening, health risk management, nutrition and activity prescription, mental health, and the most assertive care of non-urgent and urgent health and medical challenges… “from cradle to grave”!

Our patients connect with us in person, via email and via telephone/telemedicine to ensure that their care is timely and convenient, mainly during office hours, but also outside of office hours as they need or desire.

Our goal is to ensure our patients have the expertise and access to the best care available no matter their medical needs or where they are in the world.

We achieve this by continually developing our internal knowledge and resources as well as expanding and maintaining an extensive network of health and medical practitioners locally, nationally and internationally with whom we collaborate and regularly communicate.

Defining Principles of Integrative Medicine

  • Patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process.
  • All factors that influence health, wellness, and disease are taken into consideration, including mind, spirit and community, as well as the body.
  • Appropriate use of both conventional and alternative methods facilitates the body’s innate healing response.
  • Effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used whenever possible.
  • Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative therapies uncritically.
  • Good medicine is based on good science. It is inquiry-driven and open to new paradigms.
  • Alongside the concept of treatment, the broader concepts of health promotion and prevention of illness are paramount.
  • Practitioners of integrative medicine should exemplify its principles and commit themselves to self-exploration and self-development.
